Community Garden Application Helper
Ottawa lets community groups start or expand gardens and greening projects on City land through its Community-led Greening Initiatives and Gardening Program. Answer four short questions and place your garden on the City's aerial map. The helper then writes the application, draws the aerial map and site plan the City asks for, and prepares everything to submit. You review and edit before anything is sent.
When to apply. The City takes applications twice a year, for about a month each time. Its online form is closed as of October 2026; the City says the next window opens in February 2027, with dates to be announced. Check ottawa.ca/gardens before you submit.
Your privacy. Everything you enter stays in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere until you submit to the City yourself. Download a backup to move your draft to another device or share it with your group.
This is an independent helper, not a City of Ottawa service. The City's own documents are the final word.
